    It depends on what you define as tougher. But off the top of my head I'd say...

    The Art O'Neill race
    The Wicklow way race,
    The Kerry Way race
    The Mourne Way Ultra

    They're all longer with more climb.

    The likes of the IMRA galtees race would have much tougher climbs in it I reckon. The IMRA Carauntoohil race has a much greater rate of climb and descent.

    I did the Brandon Mountain Half last year. It took me 3 hours, and was probably in shape for a 1:40 road half marathon at the time.

    I could have gone on to do the second half marathon if I had my road shoes with me. The mountain section was actually not that bad at all and was easy on the joints. The second half is all on road.

    It's a good challenge, but definitely not the toughest. The elevation gain of 1473m is quite accurate.
