Horizon 200 Meg broadband disappointing speeds

I recently got the new Horizon box and "up to" 200 Meg broadband. I currently get 30 Meg wifi speed and if I plug the Ethernet cable into the back of the Horizon box, I get 60 Meg. I find it disappointing. My dad has 120 Meg Horizon broadband and gets the same speeds if not better than mine. Am I being pedantic ? Does the Ethernet cable age play a part ? The one I used is quite old
Any suggestions or tricks, other than ringing UPC and asking them to do something for me to help ?

If you're getting 60 on wired either its a very poor network card/cable of there's something wrong with your main coax connection.

Yes Ethernet pays a huge part, you cannot expect maximum speeds over wireless but with only 60mbit over Ethernet something is wrong, try another computer with a different cable
