We are hoping to elope in Edinburgh next year. Just wondering has anyone any experience of doing this, advice etc.? Most likely registry office/non religious type thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I couldn't find anything recent that helped much. Thanks in advance.:)

You need to check out the residency rules.

Yup done that, seems to be just fill in a form, birth certs and certificate of no impediment from department of foreign affairs. It has to be done a lot closer to when we actually plan to do it so can't do a lot yet. Surprisingly easy or else I'm really missing something big... Sort of worried that I am!

No residency/notice requirements in Scotland, unlike in England/Wales.
    No direct experience.
    Think it's a fab idea.
    Best of luck!
