Going from commercial car insurance to non commercial car insurance

    Hi,

I am looking to go back to a non commercial vehicle.
I have had insurance on a commercial vehicle for the past 2 years.
Before that I had non commercial vehicle - had worked up about 5-6 years no claims discount. This is now not any use to me however :(

I have just tried to get a quote on 2008 1.6 ford focus estate - quoted 1.5k which is too expensive for me (29 year old female). I have no claims discount built up as going from commercial to non commercial.

Is there any way around trying to get cheaper insurance? Just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue?

Try the last company that you had insurance with; I think some may extend the NCB expiration a bit (to maybe 3 years) for a returning customer.

Also try some brokers and see if they can work any magic for you.
