I know this may seem like a stupid question but I have only just been considering going to Tokyo and I was wondering how much do you think it would cost for everything for about a week including spending money? Sorry again for what may seem a stupid question.

    Thanks for your help.

About the same as a piece of string, I'd say.

You need to give some clues. Like will you be partying hard? Or going to free temples & shrines? Or buying a years worth of electronics?

Mostly going to free temples & shrines that sort of thing. Just a sort of ballpark figure.

    Thanks for your help.

It's possible to not spend a ton of money in Tokyo if you are willing to be parsimonious with spending on restaurants and bars and willing to stay in a less central area and rely on the subway to get around. The trains stop running at midnight though, which can put a cap on partying if you're interested in that (and it's an amazing city for nightlife).

Ballpark figure for what you could get by on? Around 50 euros a day on food, transport and entertainment plus about 50 - 100 on accomodation. If you're going to fly that far though you'd be better off saving a bit more so that you can enjoy some of the truly amazing restaurants, bars, nightlife, etc. that they have over there.
