Internal Webcam Never Worked on Toshiba Satellite?

    Hi!

I've had my Toshiba Satellite laptop for 2 years now, and I've never had any use for the webcam, and so never attempted to use it ..
BUT, I'm moving to Canada in a few days and want to be able to Skype home.
However, I can't seem to access the installed webcam at all. There is literally no sign of any programs, software, devices wherever I search on my laptop. I attempted to download the webcam driver from the toshiba website several times, but it downloads as a zip file and when I try to open it it says it is 'invalid'.
I even downloaded a few different programs which promise to unlock zip files, and these didn't work either.

Any suggestions on what I can do?
I'd like to get it sorted ASAP, and preferably by myself instead of paying to have it done at the local computer shop.

It's just a cheap built in cam. You're way better off buying another one. I have the same laptop and I've the same problem with my camera. It's terribly slow (I mean it takes 15 seconds to go from one image to the other. So if I'm staring at the camera and I look away it's not noticed for ages!
