    Hi,

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area, I'm new to Ireland and trying to figure what deductions would be taken out of a 90,000 per annum salary?
    I'm using the following website:

    http://www.deloitte.ie/tc/Default.aspx

When I put in the info. it gives the following tax break downs, is part of your income taxed at 20% and part at 41% - having a hard time figuring this out - thanks for any info.

    Tax @ Lower Rate (20 %) €8,360.00 (20 %) Tax @ Higher Rate (41 %) €15,313.50 (41 %)

In Ireland income tax is computed based on a certain level of income at the standard rate 20% and the balance at the higher rate 41%.

A single person can earn €32,800 at the standard rate and then the balance is taxes at the higher rate. A married person can earn €41,800 at the standard rate with the balance at the higher rate.

From the tax liability Tax Credits are deducted the main ones are the Personal Tax Credit €1650 (married €3,300) and the PAYE tax credit €1,650 per annum

There is also PRSI and USC.

And there's also an Excel spreadsheet income tax calculator available in my signature below or the 'About me' section of my profile.
