Mixed work place

Was perusing boards and noticed a thread or two in the personal issues section involving office/work romance type issues. I studied engineering in college and so was locked in the back of the college so as not to frighten the girls. First job, was locked on the top floor so as not to frighten the girls and current job the same. I have long since given up on having eye candy at work (unless I start playing for the other team, you'd be minted then!). Fellow boardsies, do you work in a mixed office/work place? Whats that like? Would you prefer non mixed? Discuss.

I work by myself at the moment. In my last job, it was mixed, and I liked it.

I didn't manage to shag anyone in my mixed working place, but managed to shag a customer in my working alone place. Odd.

You've not had much interaction with females in your life, have you?

Also work in an Engineering building , not too many women around only a couple. Not really bothered at all, it's only to look at, office flings are a bad bad idea anyway...I'm here to work not hook up and spend the rest of the year avoiding the lift incase I'm stuck with them again for 30 seconds...

I was at a conference a few weeks ago organised by a large IT company with their European Headquarters here in Ireland. Pretty much a sales pitch. We got a tour of their office as part of the effort. It was a complete sausagefest. It was row after row of men in their 20's and 30's. Most of them with neckbeards and stupid t-shirts. You could count the number of women on the floor with two hands. Absolute cubicle hell.

Don't worry, I am sure the first 30 seconds rocked her world. :pac:

Are you the same person who started the thread about your inability to find women online to have sex with you a few days back?

It sounds like they put up a bit of resistance!

Ha ha. No. I have a GF. I'm just stating that I'm surrounded by men all day generally and was wondering what the rest of boards situation is.

In the only real mixed workplace I was in I shagged my manager. We'll technically he was my boyfriend but still.

Then I worked in a creche so it was all women, and kids!

1 woman in all of hardware and software here, but sure you have something like finance, legal, HR etc in the same place so.
Was a tech meetup I was supposed to go to recently, more women than men there, i think they just lock you away for a reason :p

Big ICT/nerd-farm outfit, about 50-50 men and women. All ages, most shapes, and varying levels of tastiness are catered for. All surprisingly normal. :D

In my workplace, its about 11 women, 12 men, least that work on the floor with me. There's these two that are dating, these two women, they canoodle in the bakery section, and all I ever hear off the lads 'what a roide'

My first job was in a Telco. Engineering & IT were in one building and Sales & Marketing were in another one around the corner. That building was known as the Honeypot, as it was so full of women. I, happily, worked in the other building. It was a very young company, not long past being a start-up, and everyone was at it like rabbits at the time.

I work in a very male-dominated industry now and the lack of eye-candy is both surprising and disappointing.

I'd say my workplace is about 80% guys/20% women, with hot women being an even smaller subset.

There's a girl who gets dressed in front of the window of her apartment just opposite our office every morning, which helps make up for the gender imbalance.

How many threads have you mentioned this on now?

I should say she probably gets great kicks out of watching ye masturbate like methamphetamine-crazed gibbons every morning. :D

In fairness, if such a thing was happening every morning it deserves its own thread with daily mandatory updates. I see tree's outside my window. Just trees.

I've mostly worked in Male dominated environments. When I was in college I was the only girl in my class. Bar one older gentleman who was happily married, every other person in my class - including the teacher - asked me out at some point :pac:

I'm now one of two women in the IT department where I work. There are 5 men. Our male dominated department is in a female dominated company.

I've worked well with men and women though. Makes little difference to be really.
