I just want clarification on wiring for a main tv point in a sitting room and a tv point in the main bedroom. This is just for sky+,nothing fancy.
What type, how many and from where?
Is it a co-ax from attic to sitting room and a co-ax from sitting room to bedroom for magic eye and then a cat-5e from phone point to sitting room?

Would you not run 2 coax to each room and then to where the sat dish is or will be.

CAt5 or 6 be fine for broadband connection.

Sky+ requires 2 co-ax cables from the satellite dish. You can run them direct to where the satellite dish will be mounted or back to a central point in the attic where the Sky installer might connect them to the dish. The Sky installer will also run the cables externally from a newly installed dish to your main TV point.

The magic eye requires another co-ax cable from the main TV point to the other room, via the attic if you wish.

Maybe for future proofing (Saorview?) you could run a spare 4th cable from the attic to the main TV point, also a 2nd spare wire to the main bedroom if you ever decided to add a satellite receiver (Freesat etc.)

Satellite grade cable, CT100 spec, would be recommended - http://www.cai.org.uk/information/benchmarking-scheme/cai-benchmarked-cables

Thanks for the info. What kind of box will I install in the wall to take all the co-ax cables and the cat 5e?

Can't find an Irish site that has the sort of plate you need,

This site will give you some ideas, depending on how many cables you are putting in.

These are not the only option, there are others that can be made up from modules, which can be F coax, or phone, or other things like RCA (used for speakers on audio panels).

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

I used these modular wallplates in my sister's place previously - http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page15b.htm
