Was at a wedding last week, and the DJ played Fairytale of New York.
I nearly got sick. Had to go out for a smoke pronto, ad it is the most annoying Christmas song ever.

    One of the best song!

I don't watch TV or netflix, I find that helps preserve the build up to christmas until it's some bit near

If there wasn't people buying that "early" for them to make money off it, they wouldn't put it up that "early".

Yep, BT's have put up their decorations nationwide as of a few days ago
Christmas market buyer Edel Woods told independent.ie that store always showcases its Christmas offering in August.

“We might have opened two or three days earlier this year – but that was down to consumer demand,” she said.

“In fact, we’re seeing a lot of customers coming in now as they missed out last year. We usually sell out of stock by mid-November”.

It's the same every year. Within a week or so before the kids go back to school the first Christmas/toy ads start to appear, by mid September there'll be back to back toy ads on tv. September and the tins of chocolates and biscuits appear in supermarkets and on November 1st Christmas goes into overdrive.

A pub that I used to drink in years ago had an annual mad early Christmas party every August to raise money for a local charity. It was one of the best nights out of the year complete with Santa, Christmas tree, Christmas band etc...
