99 e class

    Hi people , i have a 99 E200 the engine light comes on and of , sometimes for about 10 mins .
    Plus its a petrol but sounds like a diesel at times , and holds first gear for far to long , auto.
    Any ideas before i go to a garage

    Sounds like it's misfiring. Plugs, leads, coils, as well as air-leaks around the intake plumbing. Be no harm have a look at the air-filter as well.

    diagnostic check will let you know why the light is coming on. holding on to first gear is more than likely low gear oil.
