JSA after Leaving Certificate?

I completed my leaving certificate this passed June and have been looking for work to no avail, my parents received child dependency until about May when the school year ended. I was informed that I can not claim JSA until 3 months after completing my lc but this has left my family in an even more difficult financial situation as no payment is being received for me and I have no job to contribute anything. Is there any alternative to JSA available for the next month?

No. 3 months have to have elapsed between your last LC exam and applying for JSA. If your parents are working they will be means tested. Your maximum payment will be €100. lots of the college students summer jobs will be vacant again as they return to 3rd level so you could definitely be on the lookout for these vacancies.

Sorry Nick but I couldn't help looking at your posting history. You do know that you cant get JSA if you are doing a full time 3rd level course? Did you apply for a SUSI grant?

Yes I recently decided to decline my place for this year to help with family financial hardship. Thank you for your insight :)

Unfortunately you won't qualify for BTEA next September as you will be too young.
