High Gloss Kitchen

    Hi guys,

I'm looking at changing my kitchen.

At the moment I've one wall of a galley style kitchen complete (cheap wood that was there since I bought the house).

I'm really sick of looking at it, plus I need more space!!! I'm thinking of getting either a solid wood cream kitchen or a high gloss kitchen. The kitchen itself doesn't have a window but it opens out to a breakfast area space where I have a window and a sliding double door into the garden - so even though the kitchen isn't the brightest ..it also could do with some light and so this is why I've been considering hi-gloss.

Can anyone recommend any suggestions....in general..and pro's/con's to a high gloss kitchen over a solid wooden kitchen.

Thanks in advance for any replies :D

I have a black high gloss kitchen that I love but the only thing that annoys me is the dust. It sticks to the surfaces and requires cleaning with non static cloths every day

I've a high gloss kitchen in 2 co-ordinating colours (Taupe and ivory). I'm delighted with it and so far it hasn't required any cleaning. Just the wipe of a damp cloth occasionally.
Can you get a ceiling light in anywhere near the kitchen part ?

Hi, thanks for your reply. The two co-ordinating colours sound funky! I have four recessed ceiling lights - but these are an absolute pain to replace! As they keep blowing at any attempt of replacing them! So I will be looking at an alternative to these as well ..LED's perhaps.

Do you have any pictures you could post online?
I am looking at similar colours in acrylic and would love to see how it looks.

I would suggest definitely going for the high gloss - it will 'bounce' more light into the area.
