Does anyone know if you swap the engine on a 09 mondeo 1.8 diesel, does the ecu need to be reprogrammed. If you were to keep same fuel pump would that make a difference.? Timing chain broke and engine is destroyed now

As long as you swap like with like then there is no programming required.

but it's wise to keep power going to the ecu throughout the job
