    Hey folks,

Can anyone give me an honest answer for this as I'm struggling to find one via some Googling...

I've 3 weeks in Thailand which includes a 3 day spin to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Thailand will be Chiang Mai and the Islands.

What exactly do you need in terms of jabs for that length of time?

Depends on what you're doing. If you were going on some extreme trek from Chiang Mai you might enter a malarial area. Unlikely though as most of the treks are totally geared for tourists and are pretty sterile. A good mosquito repellent should cover you.

In general for SE Asia you'd need a typhoid jab and hepatitis A. Hep B would only be necessary if you're going to be exchanging body fluids if you get my drift.

Some ultra careful people would suggest rabies. It's pointless IMO as it only gives you more time to get to a hospital for treatment. You won't be far off the beaten track at any stage and there are decent medical facilities in all of the places you're going.

This website will give you more details.

I'd recommend Boots Jungle Formula and plenty of it, Dengue fever is probably your biggest risk, won't kill you but it will take you out for about a week. Just make sure you've got good health care in your travel insurance.
