    Sorry Folks
Dont often write up but here goes. Does anyone know exactly the new rules for making PRSI contributions if you employ your wife on the farm? There are seemingly new rules introduced this year in relation to PRSI for farmer's wives working on the farm. Up to recently my Mam worked off farm but now her PAYE job has finished and is now drawing a wage from the farm and is properly registered as an employee. Going forward in what way should my Mam pay PRSI? Currently as an employee she just pays tax and USC as she is not allowed pay PRSI as a working spouse for my father.

In the country living part of the farmers journal the last few weeks there have been articles by the money mentor on this. Also talk to your accountant.
