Well its victoria at least, has the nearest thing to seasons that will be found in Aus. ground burns up quickly though in their summer. I couldn t see a 300 acre farm needing a 35 a side parlour. 300 acres would be the equivalent to 30 acres here.

Are you saying it would leave the same return as 30acres would here?!

the best of land over there and you could be looking at 10 acres to our 1. stretches of land in the majority of places over there would be multiples of that again. Water is the main issue out there, although vic is better than most irrigation systems are needed and then to get water for them can be a major task. Farming is an even bigger monopoly over there compared to here. the beef is more or less owned by a couple of big players with massive tracts of land that would fit ireland into a couple of times. A bit like larry and the boys.

Its for sale a good while now, wants 4 million dollars would be lucky to get 2 with the state of dairying over their, same guy has a 1200 cow farm aswell along with a seed/fert business, got to know him well enough top operator who is a pure prefectionist asked him why he was selling up his answer was he owes 10 million to the banks and just wants to clear his debts

Have a friend who spend a stint over in Taz during a serious drought, cows had to be walk 6k a day to get grass, the staff there were utterly worked into the ground, staff turnover was ridiculous. Serious challenge by the sound of it, to be honest not my cup of tea at all, even if it is like Australia!
