Greek summer hols, 2015?

    Hi,

Am already planning our 2015 summer holiday - and thinking about Greek islands.

Any suggestions for a one- or two-destination holiday for the 2 of us? Logistics is the first question - how to get there with a direct flight and (if necessary) a ferry? We tend to like self-catering & nice hotels in quiet places, and tend to have 2 weeks, a week in one place & a second week somewhere not too far away.

    Any ideas at all appreciated.

    Thanks!

Direct flight options from Ireland are: Corfu, Crete, Zakynthos, Rhodes, and Athens. If you fly to Athens and don't mind getting a ferry, there are endless islands to choose from. Have a look at www.greeka.com for some ideas.

Plus for 2015 the island of Kos will be re-introduced by tour-operators. So Kos & Samos could be an option for a 2-centre holiday.

Here's a thread that refers to the Crete/Santorini combination...

Any idea which tour operators? We were due to go to Samos just before 9/11 but the tour operator cancelled it.
