    1:55 York.

I’m going to give York Glory another chance here to get back to form here of a decent looking mark of 103. He ran better than his finishing result in the Stewards Cup and if things go his way he might just look a bit of value at 16/1. I’m also going with Monsieur Joe, as his form over the course and distance behind Take Cover, reads well given his current mark and at 30 on Betfair he is worth a small bet in case of a return to form here.

1 Point win York Glory 16/1 Generally
1 Point win Monsieur Joe 30 Betfair

    4:20 York

A former cliff horse of mine might just have a small squeak in this tomorrow. He needs the 2 miles as far as I can see and generally runs better at York than anywhere else. Saptapadi has a few decent runs this year and if things can go his way here he stands about as good a chance as he’s had in a while to add to his single win. 20/1 is tempting.

    1 Point win 20/1 Generally

I like the look of Bogart in the 1.55 won this last year off a higher mark and i presume this has been the plan ever since and i can see a return to form now on a nice mark and conditions in his favour.

I'd agree with you pn Saptapadi he's a horse i've kept an eye on for a while and keep thinking he has a big pot in him so i'll probably back him e/w,but haven't had a proper look at the race yet so it might only be a small bet with something else as my main 1.

O' Brien should have a good day,i expect Australia to win and i think Jamaica has to have a good chance too, won as easy as you like at Galway and although it's hard to know what exactly he beat that day,the real money men absolutely hammered into him and the way Joey spoke off the horse afterwards made me think he could be a real nice sort.

One bet for me today, Munsarim in the 5:50 at Lingfield - 16/1 on PP

Took a few of the 16/1's, and some more

Australia doubled with Thurles Sarsfields in Tipp Club hurling on Sunday, 6/4 mark.

Can't help but think Indian Maharaja is better than his price today suggests. I'd ignore his last run on heavy ground when he came back with pulled muscles at a time when laying anything O'Brien ran was a sure fire way to success. He went off odds on both starts at two which often tells its own story with good Ballydoyle horses but the form isn't strong, though he did put up a very good speed figure first time out (Australia took two runs to match it). It's off putting that he's been off since but at 33/1 he is about double the price I'd have him at. Unexposed he is worth a small chance each way

Actually the form isn't as bad as I thought, he trashed the 95 rated Urban Moon first time out. The well beaten third No Wunder is still a maiden but was beaten a head at the Curragh last time and was runner up to Obliterator. He readily beat Ceisteach then who won at Leop after.

Growl (6/1) - For a Brian Meehan trained horse to be as impressive as that on debut means they're potentially top class, should come on a ton for the run

Mukhadram (6/1) - Fully expect Mukhadram to reverse Ascot placings with Telescope over this trip, think he's the only one who'll give Australia something to think about

Spacious Sky (5/1) - Ran well in a couple of decent handicaps last month and Fallons only ride of the day when he surely could have ridden 3 or 4 had he gone to Lingfield or Southwell?

Have those in an each way trixie and will probably back Kingston Hill as well with Ryan Moore on board back over his supposed optimum trip.

    Anyone enhancing Australia today?

bits of money starting to come for Giant Sequoia (4:40 Lingfield) a former Barney Curley horse who was only beat just over a length off the same mark on Monday.

If Australia is half as good as they say he is he should win comfortably. There should be no excuses today.

Ive backed Jamaica as well. Hartnell looks a massive price in the Voltigeur @ around 9-1. Couldnt have Kingston Hill at all, he would be my lay of the day.

2:30 Dutch Connection 14/1. Think if he can get the Richard Hannon runner beat he'll have a huge chance.

I see Joey is flying home to ride the last two in Killarney tonight, he'd wanna be careful he doesnt faint on the plane home!

Seriously though, Bazaar or probably more likely, Red Rocks Point must be fairly well fancied if he's deciding to do this.

We all give out about jockeys for various reasons from time to time, but I am always impressed with this type of work rate. Travelling for work in any sense is never nice, but when you see jockeys starving themselves and then travelling between racetracks in 2 different countries, then kudos to that.

I saw Jamie did it last week where he was in Arlington on the Saturday and then back to ride some winners on the Monday in Brighton or somewhere. Time difference, maintaining weight, travelling, etc etc. Some going!

Forget Jamie going to Brighton on Monday, Ryan Moore rode at Deauville on Sunday.

Roger Varian & Paul Smith really gets on my nerves with Kingston Hill. He was a non runner today (Good to Firm, Good in Places) and a late non runner in the Curragh on Derby Day (Good to Firm) but yet it was ok to run him on Good to Firm (Firm in Places) at Sandown. Doesn't make an once of sense in my eyes

They took a chance at Sandown and he ran poorly. They learned their lesson that day

Very poor Great Voltigeur now that the favourite is out.

God Maharaja ran badly. Thought they had gone way too fast up front. Very good performance by the winner

Poor day for O'Brien at York - no better than 4th with his 3 runners so far. I wonder will Australia drift now - I certainly wouldn't be backing him @ 4/6 but wouldn't be too keen to lay him either.

If he went 8/11 or 4/5, I'd be steaming in. I can't see this lot giving him too much trouble, even if Aidan says he'll come on for the run.

Yeah probably wouldn't have won but when you're riding against Australia it's safe to say you don't want to sit there with nowhere to go. Let him get first run from a poor position. Poor ride even if he wouldn't have got by him you want the best possible chance he didnt.

Serious performance by Australia telescope is a good yatd stick and that puts that performance right up there as 1 of the best this season. Think he will also improve for the run. Irish champion next?

i don't know he was never going to win and he got him to 2nd in a group 1, id say they'll be showering him in champagne..:D

One way of looking at it, but he's already a classic winner. He had nowhere to go and let the winner have first run. Just my opinion

Kevin Ryan seems to think different

Let's not lose track that this was his first race VS his elders and He demolished them. He made an Eclipse winner look like a Group 3 horse.

Would be good to see, would have to be over 12 furlongs I suppose. Give me odds against Taghrooda and I'd back it all day long

Joey said that his best distance is 1mile/ 1.2

Imagine if after leopardstown they trained him to take on Kingman in the QE II ?

imagine his stud fee if he won that !

We'll never see that horse at a mile. They've got their 3rd in the Guineas. That'll do for stud.

Yeah i'd be shocked to see him been dropped back to a mile.

of course he won the stand side race at Newmarket - the problem was that Night of Thunder and Kingman were on the oher side of the track !

No way was he winning but letting australia go by and then asking
for an effort when whatever chance he had was gone wasn't great

I hope you were in Paddy Powers. They were price-topping Australia and offered 8/11 when the show was 4/6. Greedy me was waiting for Aus to go 8/11 on the show so I could get 4/5 in PP (I had my docket written out with the price included!) - never happened of course and the winner went unbacked.
