UFO Experiences

Let's not get into a big debate about aliens , but have you ever had an experience with a UFO? (Unidentified Flying Object) which you thought maybe was an alien spaceship?

When I was around 15 I was walking to a neighbour's to get some teabags. On the way over I noticed a big shining yellow star. It was very big, probably three quarters the size of the moon.

Anyway, I got the teabags, went on my way home, when I saw a bright flash out of the corner of my eye. I looked around and the big yellow star thing was gone.

So basically I was nearly kidnapped by aliens.

Any of ye got any stories?

A frisbee hit the back of my head once. I didn't see it coming so it's technically a UFO.

Two weeks ago I saw something really bright shooting through the sky at night. Thought it was a Shooting star or a meteor or something like those maybe, but really don't know tbh.

No, I've had plenty of experiences with UFO's. (Unidentified Flying Object's) which I never thought were an alien spaceship. They were all UFO's until they became IFO's (Identified Flying Objects) which invariably tends to happen when one has an interest to a greater or lesser degree in Aviation, Meteorology and Astronomy.

You've identified it as a frisbee, so technically it's an IFO

There's a crazy religious nutjob on this site who I won't name that believes he's met aliens, and because of that believes that god's existence is undeniable fact.

I'm guessing he was a child before lead was taken out of paint.

I spoke with someone from Kerry once, was like an extra terrestial experience anyway.

    Never had an experience

I once talked to a woman who asked for my advice regarding the internet. It was the early days of the net and I had a job that involved it.

She said she had a UFO experience. It involved a small flying globe the size of a football that zipped around their back garden (they lived in the country side). Her sister in law was with her and so were the kids. they all swore they'd seen this globe.

They were talking to me because they had no idea how to use the net but they wanted to look up information about this kind of stuff

I have no idea if they were pulling the piss and thinking maybe they could make some money but the woman appeared genuinely scared ****less when I talked to her. I'm sceptical, and I don't necessarily believe that what the woman saw was extra terrestrial but she seemed genuine and I think she saw something and wasn't making it up.

I've seen bright objects in the sky move erratically once or twice but nothing that I could categorically call a UFO.

The whole UFO thing has really seems gone off the boil of late, there seemed to be a lot more interest up until 9/11, esdpicially considering in times of turmoil sighthings have historically increased.

Don't know if I've ever heard a convincing "abduction" story but I'd love to believe it happens since it's only hyuck types in Southern U S of A.

I think there is definitely life on other planets but that people who say they've seen UFOs, the outer-worldly kind, are completely full of shít

Niles Crane: Well, who are we to say that there's not intelligent life somewhere in the universe?

Frasier Crane: Right now, I'm not sure if there's intelligent life in this room!

    Classic!!! :D

Years ago when I was about 16 I was out my back garden around 11PM getting some coal from the bunker. I was looking up at the sky as you do when I noticed an object that looked identical to a satellite (i.e no strobing lights, just a constant glow) passing overheard on what appeared to be a fixed path. Suddenly, the object stopped dead in it's tracks, shot directly up at a right angle then left at a right angle then took off at a speed that was too quick for my eyes to follow. I'm not saying it was extraterrestrials but it definitely was no know craft as the G force alone from the hard turns at speed would've liquified the pilots! Unless, of course, they're using some kind of anti-gravity technology.

OP, have you never seen Phenomenon with John Travolta?

    Clearly you've got a tuma

Aside, lights moving slowly across the sky that look like drifting stars, are satellites. Usually you can only see them outside of urban areas and light pollution, but things like the ISS can often be seen either way.

It's surely almost inevitable that there are other life-forms out in the galaxy/universe.

It seems to me, though, that if they have the technology to cross interstellar space they probably have the technology to make their craft invisible to us.

And, if they've been observing us for any time, are unlikely to want to have anything to do with us.

I bet we're just some extraterrestrial kid's science experiment.

    When you say "shooting"...how fast?

The International Space Station can be seen very regularly and easily from Ireland - like a very bright star moving rapidly across the sky - takes perhaps 2-3 minutes to cross the sky.

    Drones,

    Drones everywhere,

small little UFOs buzzing all over the place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

There's about 2000+ satellites as well as all the space junk in orbit at the moment, so some people tend to mistake them as UFOs quite a bit when they see "moving stars".

Look up into the clear sky one night and within about 10 minutes you'll spot one moving.

I only saw it for like a second, it was very fast.

Meteor..........or alien infiltration craft disguised as a meteor.

But sure go with whatever one makes you feel special.
