Deadly, I thought I'd done it yesterday as I hit my tee shot right down the line of the flag and the ball just disappeared out of sight, as I got to the green the ball was plugged in a (blind) small wet patch around the size of an album about 2/3 foot off the green (flag about 5 feet on), was just gutted :(

    Nice one.

I was playing in the US a few years back when a Japanese guy in the group behind had an ace on a par 3. We were on the next tee box and saw it, so we were waving and pointing but he didn't cop on until he got to the green and started looking for his ball. We eventually got him to look in the hole and they all went berserk. Expensive thing for a Jap - their practice is that the acer buys expensive gifts for his playing partners.

I've had three of them myself, but fortunately none when playing with a Japanese.

Have heard the insurance company are balking at paying out they have video of the ball going in the hole but no pictures of the tee box.
Have had one myself along with my 2 brothers loved my brothers one playing partner had stuck it 6 inches from the cup goes to the brother i'll give you 20 if you can get inside that BOOM straight in the cup.

Great reaction and nice prize to go with it. Have been within an inch 4 or 5 times. Younger brother has had 3 including one on a par 4, the 8th in Tullamore.

Seen as I started this thread with a link to someone else's, I may as well post on this for my first ace today!

Absolutely chuffed, as you can tell! I was playing with roadrunner off here- great day out!

The shot was a 6 iron to the 13th (I think!) in Luttrelstown, anyway the ball never got about 5 foot off the ground and hit the flag and dropped

    Delighted!

Roadrunner played well, I didn't, it's hard to come down off that high was my excuse....

Absolutely, and it wasn't even mine, as my ball landed about 10 feet from the green😜

Cheers fix, course is in decent nic, greens were brutal- hollow thinned, sanded and very hairy.

I love the layout and holes in Luttrelstown, always look forward to playing it, and even more now.

Pace of play was horrendous, very very slow and no sign of a call through by anyone all day.

Nice one Dealerz, you deserved a good stroke of fortune after that freak shot to the back last year.

A class hole to get it on too.

    What, this hole?

    - photo taken today 😜

It's a cracking hole from the other tees, before you cross the bridge, leaves you carrying the water.

Sure all you had there was a chip in :)

Only messing, hope your celebrating in style, think I'll set up a thread myself if it means I'll get one ;)

Cheers, Rioja is on tap 😜

I didn't know there was a tee box there, I'd like to try that out! As I said earlier, it's a great course.

Excellent day out on a lovely course. Shame the locals have poor course etiquette.
