I'm duebto fly MH4 getting in at 4.20pm then connecting to EI177 leaving 7.10pm Has anyone done the connection before and how long did it take yo get to terminal 2 from terminal 4?

I'm hoping I'll have time to go to the lounge to shower and grab a coffee before the EI flight as I'd have been travelling for 32 hours by that stage. Not sure if I should book it though

Are you booking it all on one ticket, or two separate tickets? If you're all on one ticket you'll be fine - I'd say you should be in the other terminal by just after 5. You'll be going through the separate Immigration clearance point which is always quiet at that time (of the am I presume) and then you'll have to clear security but again at that time of the morning it is quiet.

I think I was on mh04 few months ago, Kuala Lumpur to Heathrow?
Can't remember the exact times but got in around 5 or 6 am if I remember and flew to Dublin aer lingus about 8 or half past.
There was lots of time, the train between terminals takes less than 10 mins, security is the slowest part but its relatively quiet, we had time for breakfast and were still hanging around for an hour or so.

Sorry should have said it's the evening arrival, getting in a 4.20PM from Kuala Lumpur. I'll be on one ticket bags checked through etc.

Don't want to buy the lounge pass and then find out I have no time to use it.

Sorry, i've never tranisted at that time of day. LHR advise a minimum connection time of 90min, so that would still give you another 90min if immigration and security were really bad. Do you have to prebook the lounge pass or can you wait until the day which would be the better option.

Prebooking is a lot cheaper. I'll risk it I think, was hoping someone would have done the transfer and would tell me I'd have loads of time!

Closer to 2 hrs last year going from T5-T1, hold up was at immigration which was in T1, well over an hour there, only one guy checking passports who looked as though he was on a go slow, then a women doing the eye check who looked like she was a learner(L), when people started to complain that they had connections to make they seemed to go even slower. This was for Ireland and UK passport checks, they were mainly Irish people trying to catch the Dublin and Cork Aer Lingus flights. We were off the plane at 6.30am approx in T5 and it was almost 9am before we cleared immigration in T1. I know that your are going to T2, it will be interesting to see how you got on, if you could leave us know I for one were be greatful.
