<moved from 'Welcome New Members' thread... -mike_ie>

Anyway, I like many more hae been pissed off with boards.ie for a while. I find the higher orders have turned it into a creche more than a chat across the bar between adults. They made an effort a few weeks ago but to be honest its to little to late.

So anyway im going back to my pre joining up days. Ill do an odd lurk about but wount be posting anymore here. Im not closing my account i dont think yet.

To all the members i have meet at different events thank you. Be always nice to meet new ones in the future and or meet previous ones again.

Anyone with questions ever, drop me a private message, its linked to one of my work emails so i will pick it up there and will reply to you.

To all the old members amd all the current members thank you for all the advice and sharing your experience and knowledge. Starting farming just over 4 years ago from absolute blank canvas and not growning up on a farm I was a complete novice. I have genuinely enhanced my knowledge no end asking stupid questions here and reading posts.

    Bye :o

Well to be fair a while back some one said if you were leaving a wedding you'd thank the people for their hospitality and company and say good bye. At least he is saying good bye and why, so that will save half a thread on why he left and blaming the mods and all that crap again. Good luck lakill and I'm sure you be posting again in the future.

Have to kind of agree , used to be disappointed when members would close their account but now I take no notice.people get too excited over stuff on here and I always equated with pub talk, do I cry when people leave the pub-no way.and anyway theres only so long in anything

I think it's got to the stage where it's only chit chat and maybe it's down to the fact people may have gotten too familiar with each other. There seems to be damn all farming talk of late and it's getting a bit old all the crying and messing.

Have to disagree. Plenty of farm talk in the forums if ya just look for it.

I find its just the easy option for people to blame the banter when they get fed up with the site or are having a bad day.

Don't know about anyone else but when I'm chatting about farming to anyone face to face the irish wit/banter is always present so why can't it be present on an Irish farming forum.

Plenty of non personnel - non banter forums out there if people like that form of forum. That's what attracted me to boards.ie in the first place away from the other ones.

Personally I like to follow a few of the posters like Pusey and his figures legs and his blues, greysides for the veterinary, Mahoney for the dairying and a few others for various others, bob being a serious loss. Lakill seems to have gotten fed up and with him gone there's no one out there to challenge pudsey on the numbers. Another loss or two like that and I reckon it's going to be pure chit chat with a bit of farming thrown in.There just my thoughts on the matter, I follow this for farming info and a bit of chat not the other way round.

there was a thread a few weeks ago to air everyones views on the forum , what is the point in continuously dragging it up again, if someone chooses to leave its their decision and no point have a post mortem after it
