    The important questions

    1) Do Kip ups work the same muscles as strict pullups? If you watch a slow motion video it's almost an horizontal pull/inverted row instead of a vertical pull.

    2) There is no question 2.

    I meet 100+ people a week on a personal basis who have trusted me with the responsibility of making sure they avoid being in that percentage.

    Or maybe I don't own a couple of gyms and this is all a massive illusion.

    Evo2000 you are about 3yrs behind on your CrossFit trolling, most standard CrossFit gyms have strict guides on pull-ups and kipping pull-ups. So calm the hell down.

    I compete in CrossFit and have done for a while now and not once has a kipping pull-up been responsible for any shoulder injuries I have gotten.

    I've even done a guide on upper back exercises you should be doing here -



    I'm not alone in doing videos like this and many many CrossFit and non-CrossFit people have similar standards and progressions, these are just mine.

    I wasnt really trolling originally i was asking a genuine question, but then hanley and his groupies alf and blue got all but hurt because i didnt agree with what they were saying so we ve been having a **** slinging contest since,

    Such is the way of these threads it would seem, especially going against the teachings of a crossfit cult inspires rage!

    Lesson learn on my behalf! lol

    I do a similar workout to that - the rings and kipping, most of thats nothing to do with crossfit thats just working out lol

    Emmm that's not how it looks from where I'm sitting.

    As pointed out the whole kipping pull up is a very very old argument that's been done to death.

    99% of my clients never do kipping pull-ups because I don't train them to do CrossFit competitions.

    I do them as part of training because it's part of my sport and I practice them in the same way I practice handstands, snatches, squats etc

    Which are central parts to CrossFit.

    The basic problem here is you're taking info from videos you want to hate on yet when someone that actually does CrossFit and teaches it you want to categorise it differently.

    If you sat and chatted face to face with someone like myself you would realise we have more things to agree on than disagree

    You re only looking for a reason to disagree with me so you can get a pat on the back from the rest of the groupies, theres like a set grp of ye that just go around backin each other up regardless of how wrong or right ye are.

    A point I shall make again-

    If you sat face to face with me or many many other people that can program for CrossFit or non CrossFit then you would agree with most and might actually learn a few things

    Possibly could, one can always learn new things! if you read my original post you will see i was contemplating giving it a go, but the sort of people here,and the sheer ignorants to other peoples points that differ from there own, doesnt exactly help crossfits reputation, or inspire anyone to join...

    If one was to judge by this thread the crossfit community would come across as a bunch of elitist pompous pricks.
