Home dye now or salon?

    I'm heading off to the sun this week and will be in the pool too. My hair is dark and I last had it coloured in July with an all over tint, similar to my own colour but shinier, and also to cover up the lighter hair colour at the ends.

    For some reason, my tips always appear lighter than my head of hair.

    My roots are now natural and uncoloured, and so are dull and have a few greys.

    Should I:/

    (A) do a home colour root touch up now, and then do a proper salon cut and colour in September when I don't have as many holiday financial outgoings?

    (B) do a home colour all over tint now?

    (C) or just bite the bullet and go to the salon tomorrow morning for a cut and colour?

    With being in and out if the pool, the beach and the sun (yay!) my hair will get damaged during holidays - that's why I was thinking a salon trip now would be a waste and a better investment after the holidays?

    What would you do?
