PMS on Dell 1525 running Ubuntu

Hi folks, Installed Plex Media Server on my old Dell Inspiron 1525 (2GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo T6400), It'll play (transcode) a file to my client on a mobile but hangs when I try to seek/ffwd. Am I wasting my time on an underpowered machine or maybe is something funky up with PMS ? TIA
