    Hi guys,

Bought a bora last week 2001, 1.4 petrol. Was dropping a friend off tonight when i went to pull off and the engine just revved up but the car has no power in it at all. The car was in gear and everything to before i get any smart answers.

The can turns over and starts without problem, engine runs everything it just wont move! Im seriously hoping there isnt anything major wrong with it as i am young, didnt spend a whole lot on the car to some peoples eyes but its still money to me that i havent got.

anyone have any ideas on what it might be? not sure if ill be able to get mechanic to look at it till monday as im working shifts for the weekend......

    Clutch gone,gearbox/diff, or driveshaft damaged.

Does it feel like its going into gear??

Is there any sort of noises ??

well if the car is in gear and revving up but not going anywhere it's most likely the clutch.

    in a 1.4 petrol bora i'd say between €2-300 but i really don't know.

Feels as if its going into gear. No noise that i can hear engine sounds fine.

Taxi driver on the trip home reckons its the drive shaft if that any use:pac:

Has it been making a clicking noise when you drive around corners, or when you lock the wheels fully while parking? Could be a CV joint on a front driveshaft has disintegrated. Need to take a good look in day light. second hand driveshaft complete with CV joints runs about €80, plus fitting.

Not usually but i tend to have music playing when im driving.

Ill do my best to get a mechanic to look at it ASAP
