Crank sensor on 1.6 2001 vw golf

    Can somebody quickly tell me where a crank sensor is on the above car please? Cheers

    usually on the gearbox at the flywheel on most cars others behind the plastic at the crank pully where the timing belt is hope this helps

    Depends on whether is it 8v or 16v but the 8v sensors are more troublesome so I will assume 8v.

    So it is beside the oil filter housing on the front of the engine block beside the gearbox.

    no sorry its the 16v version.. was looking for it half of the evening and could not find it..

    well when you find it report back for all to know take off the plastic on the bottom section of the timing belt side cover
