Jobseekers, BTEA & SUSI Grant

My partner currently receives Jobseekers, and I am on Tus.

I intend going back to college in September.

Am I better off to be on BTEA, or the SUSI maintenance grant?

My understanding is that if I am in receipt of the maintenance grant, my partner can claim the 'Qualified Adult' increase for me on their claim. Alternatively, if I am in receipt of BTEA, then this payment effectively 'is' the qualified adult payment, and my partner cannot claim for me on their claim.

As I see it, the difference between both in terms of family income is the grant monies. If I go for the grant, we have partners payment + qualified adult + grant; and if I go for BTEA, we have partners payment, and BTEA.

    Any help appreciated.
