Just tried sky sports on my ipad via Sky Go. Still getting the message about needing the relevant pack to watch the channel. Pity.

Yes, same here. Rang upc and they are aware of the problem. The rep. on Facebook is asking for account details of affected users.

Everyone I guess? I'll be on the road all day anyways, no sky sports me.

  • Moderators Posts: 12,397 ✭✭✭✭Black_Knight

My upc just went a bit funny there. Now all the sky sports channels are just black screens, but it doesn't say I'm not subscribed to them. Could be something on the way

Am I right to think that those of us on UPC are getting 7 free channels today?

    Sky Sports 1
    Sky Sports 2
    Sky Sports 3
    Sky Sports 4
    Sky Sports 5
    Sky Sports 1 HD
    Sky Sports 2 HD

So we can't watch the rugby in HD?

I have Sky just the basic package and when I seen this yesterday I ws quiet looking forward to it. Was looking forward to watching some off Skys F1 notably the British and German GP but all the Sky sports channels still say that you need to subscibe to the Sky Sports package. This was supposed to happen at 6am so they are now over 4 ours late with it. If they want to leave it till Sunday of next weekend I would have no problem with that.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Eh, you might want to double check!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,318 ✭✭✭Absoluvely

Charlie posted about his theory that Sky Sports might not disconnect while it was running. So he left it on overnight and came back in the morning to check if it was still running. It wasn't and he felt like he shouldn't have expected any different - "Don't be daft".

Antodeco then rhetorically asked if he had just replied to his own message and suggested that he had intended to sign in to a different account for one of the two posts. Charlie responded "No" - he hadn't intended to use a second account for one of the posts.

Ilyushin then suggested that Charlie had been drunk last night when he had come up with the idea of leaving the box running on Sky Sports.

Antodeco, thinking that Charlie meant "No, I didn't just reply to my own message", suggested that Charlie double-check whether he had just replied to his own message.

Absoluvely then posted his own interpretation of events as they had unfolded, in an attempt to clear up some of the confusion that he believed had become apparent. And the incident was never spoken of again.

I'm watching the Ireland-France third place play-off in the women's rugby world cup on TG4 HD.

And I'm keeping an eye on the Cork-Tipp hurling semi-final on RTÉ2 HD. Would you believe it's the first time they've met in the All-Ireland SHC semi-final?

Also checking on the European athletics championships on BBC2 HD.

You don't need Sky Sports to avoid boredom on a summer Sunday =)

I checked this out on Saturday myself (Sky box, non-sports, no HD customer) and while they all (SD & HD) were working, the HD versions had no sound?

Anyone else have the same problem?
