Getting an mechanics apprenticeship, how to go about it?

    Hey guys, so as the title suggests, I'm not doing too great in college, doing repeats next week, but not holding out to pass, if i pass well great if not, I want to get into mechanics, most people tell me not to and others say its great, and from what I've seen myself from being in a garage environment for the last week and a bit I have to say, I could really get used to it.

    So I've been looking on the solas website about it and stuff but it looks as if someone just copied and pasted it from something and its as useful as a chocolate teapot to be honest, so I'd like to hear from people who are in the know, or can offer a bit of advice, my plan is to see how the results go and go from there, visit every garage in the area and ask for the manager and ask him if they'd take me on, after that I'm lost

    So any help is greatly appreciated :)
