Dental Implant Question

Looking for PMs on this please.

My existing crown fell out and I went to a dentist to have it cemented back in place. However this dentist told me that the tooth underneath the crown was fractured and rotted and that it would have to be surgically extracted and that she would then recommend an implant.

I'm now in the market for a surgical extraction of a rotted tooth and an implant in it's place. It's my front tooth, so I need to have a decent job on it done.

Can anyone recommend a dentist or clinic for me please? (PM Please)

Best Regards and Thanks in Advance!!!

You need to act reasonably quickly op, if the tooth is that bad then it is likely to flare up into an infection. Infections destroy vital bone that you need for the implant....

It most likely does not need to be "surgically extracted" either. A surgical extraction is where the gum is lifted back and the bone drilled away to expose the root to be removed... Again, this destroys vital and necessary bone. Nearly all front teeth can be elevated out with time and care, thereby saving the bone...

In some cases you can place the implant right away, in some cases you should wait. Some need bone and or gum grafts.... It all depends....

My best advice, the person doing the implant should do the extraction, no one else has a greater interest in doing it carefully for the implant.....

    Good luck,
    Os
