As biddy says leinster roofing or even ring kingspan directly,(ask for shane) there isnt that big of a diff on prices around on the sheeting. for the purlins 20 ft 9x3 seem a bit ott would the metal purlins not be a better option? 6x3 would be normal on 16ft spans.

Midland cladding in kilbeggan. Very good for materials. Bought all my materials there for all my sheds

In a previous life I used to sell a fare share of cladding and trim- midland cladding were always the cheapest and had excellent quality

Great at putting a package together compared to the likes of tegral who would be cheap on cladding but kill you for trim ridge and accessories

If it's fibre your after. Svk are your only men

Thanks for the names will ring about. 9x3 are required because it is over 20' span not standard 15'9. and can't be helped as tying into existing sheds

All the sheds here are 20ft bays. Used 9x3 timber on one, don't like it. Use the Z steel purlins, way better job.

Will steel purlin last in a cattle shed? Tegral told us they wouldn't recommend them. Seen them in kildalton but they looked plastic coated

I use skyclad also in Milltownpass. They are sound to deal with and i normally deal with Michael.

Have collected stuff if under 12ft and the rest i got delivered by lorry in 21 ft sheets. i just give them the dimensions of the roof and any slope and they work it out.

i know of a slatted house that was built in the 80s. high roof 250k gallons across 3 tanks that has steel purloins. Last a few of the ones at the highest points needed to be replaced. They were exposed to rain though as well. the rest are still good

The first ones (12 yrs ago) I put inTo the first shed are galvanised. The others were put in under the FWM scheme, those ones were plastic coated.
They are all in cubicle sheds with no tanks. I can't see an issue with them, certainly not the plastic coated ones, there's no reason they wouldn't last as long as timber and they should out last the cladding.( they'll see me out)
I'll let you know in 20yrs time ;)

My steel purlins were grant job and were galvanised and i painted them. They were put in in 2008/09 and they are rusting in cubicle sheds. They seem to catch any moisture and it sits there.
Steel is way nicer to build with as they are so light and cost wise its very close between the 2. But think i will go timber

I have bought lots of stuff from skyclad before and found them excellent. And have rang most now that have been suggested. A lot are selling 0.5mm which i think is too light it will be 0.6 or maybe 0.7mm. As i am doing roof myself and 0.5 is a curse to walk on with it kinking.
Very impressed with leinster roofing supplies was very keen and helpful

At sheds full time and some of the stuff around you cant walk across with out leaving dents all over the roof its well worth buying good quality sheeting .

Is cladding getting any cheaper now that steel is going through the floor?

Always get confused about the amount covered by a sheet... some say it is 2'6" with the overlap and others advertise a full metre of coverage... does anyone have an idea what we should be paying roughly by the m2 for 0.55 or 0.6?

Prices are staying around the same, and will probably for the for-see-able future
Most companies are doing away with the 2'6" cover though it is still available, 3'3" is the most common corrugated, 3'3.5" for the Box cover, around €5.65-€6.20/mt for 0.55 and €6.80-€7.20/mt for the 0.6 pending on quality

would prefer cement fibre over cladding, some of the cladding now is like paper

Box Profile will cover 1 metre when lapped, but more often than not Corrugated covers 10mm shy of that, 990mm
