Best way to invest 50k

Apologies for the general nature of my question first and foremost.

Can anyone give me an idea of the best way to invest €50k? Realistically if its a bank account i'd put the money away for 3-5 years however interest rates don't seem to be all that great.

What would the return be on government bonds for say 3 years?

I'm not up on the stock market at all and quite keen to avoid any risk, albeit a more lucrative return is not my expectation if this is the case.

Just something stable, but obviously providing a better return than can be had at the banks this minute.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
