Just wondering can anybody help. My golf buddy is a touch screen job but the other day the touch screen stopped working in the middle of a round. Turns on but I can't turn it off without taking out the battery. The only other function I use needing the touch screen is the close up of the green giving distances to the front middle and back. Any help much appreciated.

do all the other buttons work?
What happens when you hold down the power button?

How are you taking the battery out?
I have a world platinum that I have to undo a bunch of screws to get at the battery.

Hi. Yes all the other buttons are working fine. When I hold down the power button for a few seconds the screen changes and asks if you want to power off the unit. There is a yes and no box but when I push either of them they don't work. To take out the battery I unscrew a big screw at the back if the unit and pop out the battery.

Ah ok got it, all I can suggest is checking for loose connections between screen and pcb, if you are handy.

If not you can try to contact then, people have had success before on here.

Did it suffer a drop or get very wet?

There has been issues, limited as they are, with the touch screen failing, If it is still in warranty the Golf Buddy boys will repair it if they can or in some cases it will be replaced.
Take it back to where ya bought it and they should be able to advise you.

Didn't drop or get wet that's why I'm baffled. Nearly fainted when you suggested looking at it myself. Wouldn't be too confident of looking at it myself. Thanks for the help

If you want me to take a look at it let me know, I rebuilt (& fixed!) my kindle recently so know my way around this sort of stuff.

Though maybe see what Golf Buddy says first in case its still covered under warranty

No never took Greebo up on his kind offer. I actually sold it on Adverts for small money as I advertised it as faulty and bought the newer golf buddy. It's so much better.

Anyone get any resolution for this. I have the same problem and go nowhere with GB. I would be very interested if there is someone local who could fix it.

Hey LiamK, There is a 2 year warranty on all GB products, if it falls with in that time bring it back to the retailer whom you bought it off and they will sort it for you as long as you have Proof of Purchase! can't see it being a problem.

Had one of these which I bought from my club professional.

Screen went blank and I could not get any response...took it back and got it replaced though the warranty was up . !

Hey Neckedit,,,Thanks for response but as explained in a previous thread the original unit was purchased in USA while on vacation. The latest one to go faulty is the third one i received and they tell me it is now no longer GB problem as the warranty is out on the original even though they replaced the first and second (albeit after i spent an absolute fortune ringing Golf Buddy both in Europe and the US). This is why i am looking to see if i can get it repaired as it is currently thrown in a drawer after so much time and cost invested.

AH OK, if it is beyond 2 years as you explain, the warranty is no longer valid as it is only valid from the date of purchase, Is the screen frozen completely? I'll let you know tomorrow if it is repairable and a possible cost if it is.
can you PM me the serial number?
