Applying for re-entry Visa in Dublin

I have a non-EEU passport working here in Cork and my wife and I would like to go to Dublin next week for the application of our re-entry visa. I'd like to ask everyone's recent experience applying there. How early should I get there? I've read that you need to queue early since there is only a number of applicants being processed. How is the queue going? Will I be able to get my passport stamped on the same day?

I will also be able to get my GNIB card today. Do I need to accomplish the online application form AVATS or the donwloadble PDF is enough?

Why don't you apply for re-entry visa by post? If you are in rush - you can go to office and will get a Visa stamp same day, but you need to go as early as you can, in order to get a ticket.

We went in July; got there at 5.40am, and were approximately #50 in the queue at that time. They let people in in groups of 50 so the waiting area inside doesn't get too crowded, but the doors open at 9am, so bring an umbrella.

September is busy as the students are all collecting their GNIB cards; I had to go in September a couple of years ago, and made 3 attempts to get in the door, getting turned away before lucky #4

Thanks everyone, I was in a rush and had to go there in person last week, arriving in Dublin @ 6-ish AM.. Worth the wait though as we were 1 & 2 in the Re-entry queue. :D

If you partner is a Visa Required National, they then need a re-entry visa, even for a ten minute trip to Derry.

They would also need a visa to enter the UK.
