Hey everyone, I've sent my application form for a fas beauty therapy course and I'm really nervous about the interview!

Does anyone no what type of questions they ask for ?
Also the course starts January 2015 when will the interviews take place?

This course is a huge deal to me and out of 100+ applicants only 16 get it I believe ,so I want to be well prepared for the interview.

Quickly, I'm quiet a shy person, which is why I want to do such a hands on career, to push me out of my comfort zone but I hope I don't come across awful in the interview as it's a very social job if that makes since. Any tips?

Thanks in advance if anyone answers!

Hey there.. I am doing this course the past 2 months and its great :) Dont be worried at all the interview is not that tough but you must show interest that you really want it and are committed to coming in everyday and doing all the course work, putting in the effort etc as its a very tough and intense work with hours of at home study every night! If you have done a biology in the LC this will be an advantage for you or if you have done any type of beauty course or job this will stand to you also. I wouldnt say that you want the position just to gain confidence as this will not really impress them, you need to show that this is what you want as there is many more people that want the place! Your interview will be a few weeks before the course starts more than likely so you have loads of time to prepare! If you have any questions just ask me :) dont be nervous and good luck :)

    Hi,
I completed this course last year and it was brilliant. It is very tough. You do two years in one and you study through out summer. In the interview your asked if you had any previous experience in this line of work as its an advantage. They want to hear why you want a career in this line of work. I said I had very bad skin for years as a teenager and would love to help other people with similar problems like mine, so I could pass on my knowledge. They loved that. They really emphasize that that there is a lot of theory in this course (which there is, I thought case studies were going to be the death of me) and they want you to be willing to sacrifice your social life (This was actually said to me) but if you have an interest in it you'll be grand.

They asked me to come to an interview not even a month before the course started so don't be worrying to much. Just tell them what they want to hear. :)

    Best of luck

Ya I suppose that's true, I was really leaning on the confidence thing tho, but I see where your coming from! I don't have any experience in the industry and I don't have my leaving done so I don't really have a lot to offer that's why I'm so nervous! And the fact that I'm quiet to begin with, like out of all the applicants il have no lc, no work experience, nothing to stand to me really. Just that iv always had an interest in beauty, but so will all the other girls applying only difference is theyl have way more to offer :(

Do you think saying I really want to travel and I'm eager to get back into education would help? I'm only 20 Iswel and iv a feeling that'll go against me! Ahhh I don't even no why I'm applying, Buuuut of your not in you can't win, i have nothing to lose anyway, thanks for the tips btw so kind of you :)

Did you really have bad skin or did you just say it in the interview? Haha, I defintaly have no problem putting in the hard work and putting social life aside for the year, I'm sick of doing nothing and having no qualifications, I just don't no if itl come across well in the interview!

I keep thinking about how many apply and only 16 get it, and I have nothing to offer, experience or education wise :( so far everyone iv seen in the course has had a lot of past experience in the beauty industry/leaving cert done

Because I don't have my leaving done I'm really banking on this course, plan B is leave Ireland but I don't think il tell them that, fingerscrossed anyway and thanks for the advice :):)
