Air Source Heat Pump v's Geothermal v's Oil

    Hi all,

We are starting to renovate and extend and old existing house at the moment and we can't decide what type of heating system to go for. The house is on the north west coastline about 500 metres from the Atlantic.

We want under floor for certain and have been looking at air source heat pumps and geothermal which are quite expensive and we keep hearing mixed reviews regarding both. Oil is the other option but for under floor would probably be very expensive to run.

The house will be extremely well insulated 9 inch in the floors 8 inch in the cavity's not sure what in the ceiling, windows will be tapped.

I would really appreciate any advice or reviews of any of the above systems as our budget isn't big and this is a very important decision for us.

    thanks
