So I am going to be spending a week in Inchicore and I will have my road bike with me. Any suggestions for nice 1-2 hour morning spins (apart from doing laps of Phoenix Park). I might have a car available if I need to drive to the start point but I'd rather not if possible (and driving time would have to be included in the 2 hour limit).

    Hello Culchie.

Inchicore - left on Suir Rd to Islandbridge - left onto R109 (Chapelizod rd) - up knockmaroon hill - left for Strawberry beds/ Lower Rd to Lucan - swing around Lucan to cycle back up Laraghcon hill (though I prefer to turn left and go up Barnhill Cross hill) - up the R149, right at the first crossroads, across the train tracks and canal - left onto R121/ Porterstown rd/ Carpenterstown rd - back to Inchicore through Phoenix park.
    Should take 1 - 2 hours.

If you fancy a few climbs, head up the Dublin mountains, some great roads out there and not too far from Inchicore. Lots of short and steep climbs, a few longer ones also

train from connolly to maynooth & spin back in through lucan, strawberry beds & in to the phoenix park, about 27 or so km then make your way over to inchicore from the park!

    happy trails

No bikes on the train @ peak times.

As Quozl said, hit the hills.
Did a route similar to this last week - lovely route and quiet in the mornings:
