Hey folks,

Thought I'd post this on the off chance anyone around these parts is vaguely familiar with Asian swords.

My Grandfather served as Rear Admiral during the Indo-China war and he brought this sword home after the war.

If it's worth anything I'm interested in getting it restored as it's in very bad shape as you can see from the pics attached. Does anyone have any idea what I have here?

I'd greatly appreciate if anybody can shed some light on this.
