Buying bus tickets online

I'm due to travel to visit a friend tomorrow and I've just been online to check the price of the bus fare and discovered it's cheaper to book online. However I don't have access to a printer to print off the receipt. Will a confirmation email on my phone suffice for the bus driver to allow me travel on the bus? Also the journey I'm taking requires a stop and change of bus in Waterford. Will the email be ok when I get the second bus that won't be the departing location in the email?
    Any answers appreciated!

If it's Bus Eireann, you no longer need a printout of the ticket, just your phone with the code will do. When you tell the driver your code and destination, they'll issue you with a single ticket all the way through. It's this ticket that you'll show the driver when you change into your second bus, not the email/online ticket.

Note that for other companies would will need to check the individual operator's rules

If booking with Aircoach, if you show the driver, on your phone, the email you receive that has the time of the bus on which you choose to travel, and the booking confirmation code, that should be ok, but contact them to make sure.

    TEL: Dublin +353 (0)1 8447118
    TEL: Belfast +44 (0) 28 9033 0655
    FAX: +353 (0)1 8447119
    EMAIL: info@aircoach.ie

The Aircoach drivers will have a print out of all the bookings made online for the particular bus they are driving, the names, the time chosen to travel and corresponding booking confirmation numbers.

EDIT: Just some additional detail regarding proof of booking tickets with Aircoach, which may be of help to anyone who may not be able to print out their tickets

Aircoach state in their booking confirmation emails, when booking online:

"IN ORDER TO BOARD THE COACH YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PRODUCE YOUR AIRCOACH BOOKING CONFIRMATION. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU PRINT THIS EMAIL TICKET AND BRING IT WITH YOU. ALTERNATIVELY YOU MAY DISPLAY THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL ON YOUR MOBILE PHONE / ELECTRONIC DEVICE. Prior to boarding the coach we will validate your online booking by checking it off against the booking manifest. Please note you may be asked to show proof of booking / identification when boarding the coach".
