Becoming less and less sociable

I'm friends with a very sociable group of ladies, they love parties, coffee meet ups and the usual social encounters. Lately though I'm just not that bothered about seeing any of them and I know it seems rude but I'm finding it all very boring. It's always the same old chit chat, often about other people (which I don't like).
So I've spread my wings a bit and mixed with others but our last outing kind of left me deflated really. Mostly because it was a bit of a man knocking session, too much imo. I really had nothing to contribute and probably should've left early.
To be honest I love sitting at home with dh and kids chilling, watching movies or whatever.
I know I'm an introvert but can and do switch it on when I have to, and I'm good at it.
Lately though I just cannot be bothered. Is it OK to take time off from the world?
I feel terribly rude ignoring or turning down invitations, and am torn between explaining myself or just letting it slide and dealing with things as they come up. If I want to go I go, if not I don't.
I don't really want to come across as not caring/working at the friendships but the last few times I went out it was not enjoyable and I decided time for a break!
    Should I explain or not?
I think it's very difficult for outgoing sociable people to understand where I'm coming from, is it?

There's nothing wrong with not wanting to go out with the same group on a regular basis.

It's bound to get boring especially if it's only a bitch fest at times. Not everyone's idea of a good night.

If you want to spend your evenings with your family, then do.
Maybe go out once in a blue moon with your friends, when you feel like it, just to keep in touch.

    Take care

I enjoy my own company too, but I never feel like socialising is a chore with my good friends- I look forward to seeing them.

It sounds like you have outgrown this group, and if you feel like you want to move on and find more like-minded people, then that's really understandable.

    Thanks for replies.
Yes maybe time to move around a bit and mix things up.
I think a little break, a social fast, might be in order.
    Thank you.
