hi, just moved into a new house where there is an eircom phone line.

im interested in getting a fixed line broadband package, but do not want to go with eircom as I find them a bit expensive.

what im wondering is, do I have to sign up with eircom for a 1 year contract before I can switch to say, sky broadband
or another provider, or can I just sign with any fixed line broadband provider and they will activate the line?

    cheers....

Vodafone will do it all for you, same as eircom. Sky will probably tell you to F off to eircom for a year first, they dont seem to like paying the provisioning fees.
