Hey there folks, I'm 17 and I've a keen interest in airports and working at an airport, but how, exactly, could I find a job working in dublin airport. I'd love to work in the airport, whether it be at the check in desks, working in a shop, cleaning or even boarding people onto their flight, how do I apply for these types of jobs, I'm not sure what to be looking for online, I've finished the leaving cert and start college in September, I'd like a job on the side to help earn abit of money, thanks.

This is the site you need to check for any current jobs, check regularly.

Other than that go to the Burger King/McDonald's/starbucks/topaz websites and see if there are jobs going at their airport branches.

You can also approach the many kiosks or baristas with your CV and you might get lucky

Aer Lingus recruit seasonally for ground staff also, see their careers site around about the start of May. You'll need to be 18 for those positions though.

I worked in the airport environment before and found it the atmosphere made it an enjoyable and unique place to work, even if the early mornings and late nights took their toll from time to time. :P

OP should be aware that The Working Time Act would prohibit an under 18 from allot of the rolls in an airport, but as has been mentioned, there are plenty of retail/catering employers who may entertain taking on someone with great enthusiasm and energy, who had the diligence to do a bit of research to help improve prospects.

My advice? Make a good one or two page CV in which you spotlight your enthusiasm, skills and abilities. Then go to the airport and leave it in everywhere that will take it. Dress sharp and look well. Also be aware that allot of these jobs begin at the start of the tourist season, so not as many places will be hiring at this time of year.

In any event, best of luck OP and let us know how you get on. ;)

To follow on from the above, I too worked in an airport environment. I worked in Dublin airport and despite it being a relatively poor job (shop assistant) I felt that working in the airport was magical. I loved it. People were mostly in good moods and wandering around at your lunch hour was a always a joy.

    Go for it OP!
