M50 Bed In The Overtaking Lane

I was travelling Southbound just before the Tallaght exit when I saw a bed in the middle of the outside/overtaking lane.

The car in front hadn't seen it till the last second and I had noticed something from further back so that car swerved across nearly losing control and I tried my best to warn the cars behind but a silver Peugeot went straight into it at speed launching it up and resting on top of the mattress and then coming to a rest near the concrete barrier but at that section there is no room between the road way and barrier so they were in a dangerous position.

Rang the Gardai to let them know as it could have been lethal with a car in a heap in the overtaking lane.
They were delighted getting the call and emergency services were sent.

Anyone else see it and were the occupants of the car okay?

Any strange things others have come across on their travels.

Luckily no or depending on whom that may have been not lucky:pac:

With the wind earlier my guess is it took of from van or trailer as I just noticed it on the road which with the shine of the sun was difficult to spot.

Yeah, the Oriental looking Taxi driver(avensis) in the middle lane of the N7 today before J14, who slammed on his brakes for feck all reason, and when I quickly changed lane to avoid the dopey fcuker, swerved in on top of me, missing me by inches, then the gimp pulled onto the hard shoulder, sat for a few seconds, then pulled out and cut up an artic, missing it by inches. You Sir, are a massive, massive tool.

Why didn't you report his lethal driving as that should not be on especially from someone who is meant to be a proffesional driver.

I bored the missus with my view on that. :) And I had to swerve so fast I didn't get the clowns taxi number either. Looked like he was having a blazing row with his passenger, but fcuked if that means you jam on your brakes at 100kph in the middle lane then swerve across. I'd say he fcuked the passenger out and pulled off in a temper, but jasus, what a way and spot to do it.

Can't say I'm surprised...some clowns tend to spend most of their journey half asleep in the overtaking lane anyway.

    F**king M50..

Was this last night OP? Didn't see anything like that myself but the M50 was like a river when I was coming back across around 6.

Crazy rain yes but no excuse for the piss-poor drainage considering they only rebuilt the whole thing a few years ago!

Since when is a Taxi driver an professional driver? They are the exact same qualification level as everyone else on the road.

I think he's referring to the fact they drive for a living.

Thanks and they are classed well meant to be as a professional.

This of course doesn't mean they drive like a professional as some are just plain dangerous.

I didn't see that but I did see a tailback about a mile or two long for the limerick exit on each side. We were all backed up for a good while in the driving lane before we could move over
Did something happen there too ??

No was around 1240 and sunny but the usual everybody racing and travelling way too close to car in front.

I had noticed from 2 cars back something was in the road but the 2 ahead only noticed inches from it and swerved one in front of me nearly losing it.
I tried to warn car behind but were too close and flying and hit the mattress sending car up with front wheels off the ground and came to a rest in overtaking lane.

    Scary stuff.

I was driving home one night, was really foggy and visibility was horrible.

Came down the slip road onto the A2 just outside Baexem and there was some guy running up the road waving around signal flares like something out of Die Hard 2.

I just passed him in confusion and then slowed down to a few kilometers and hour with my hazards on.

Saw something and completed stopped, there was a skip in the driving lane of the motorway, somehow it had managed to come off the back of a lorry.

If it wasn't for the dude with the flares (don't know where he got them from, who brings signal flares with them !) I would have went straight into it.

    What is it with that?

The overtaking lane is exactly for that, overtaking....

And then you have the doppy fcukets who don't bother indicating which really gets on my tits....

No problem. I just take a little offence to someone who does something that 99% of the population can do, and do on a daily basis, being classed as a 'professional' Professionals train for years, have relevant certifications and constant up-skilling and re-validation. Taxi drivers do none of this and yet we are expected to class them as 'professionals'

So if I give someone a lift i'm an amateur taxi driver ? :pac:

Or promiscuous men/ladies are Amateur sex workers, but become professionals if you throw them a few quid ?

Well the driver of the Peugeot was obviously half asleep so it was coincidental that a bed appeared out of nowhere.
