The only one that would be mildly surprising is Nova, as that seemed to be getting some momentum according to reports.

I can only imagine what Strange Academy would have ended up being. A total misfire.

Not sure I'd have been too hyped on the premise of Strange Academy, but would have been nice to actually give Benedict Wong something to do in the Marvel universe. He's always great but been totally wasted so far.

I happen to think Emma Stone is quite aesthetically pleasing if you don't mind.

Sadie is still only 22 and got a long hopefully flourishing career ahead of her. I don't want to encourage rags like The Daily Mail to bully her over her appearance. Just because she's a redhead doesn't mean she's going to play Stan Lee's most unpopular comic character.

They should have just called Zendayas character Mary Jane. Even if they were accused by some morons of race-switching the character. I imagine that the audience would expect that Peter parker would end up with Mary Jane Watson over a Michelle Jones.

So, having our already established MJ (who is already the MCU's version of the comics MJ/Mary-Jane but with the MJ being a different name), and introducing another Mary Jane who just doesn't go by MJ would be fine, but introducing a live-action MCU Gwen Stacey would diminish the animated Sony Spider-Verse's Gwen, who is played by Hailee Steinfeld who already plays Kate Bishop in the MCU?

The animated Gwen Stacey is completely irrelevant, in the same way that if Spider-Man 4 introduced a Miles Morales it really wouldn't have an impact on the Spider-Verse films. Those streams haven't and likely won't cross (at best a throwaway reference). They're far too separated. And even then we've already had a lot of multiverse alternates.

I think shoehorning Sadie Sink into a Mary Jane role just because she has red hair would be ridiculous. I really don't think they need to go down that route just because the actress is a redhead. I think Gwen Stacey would be a good fit for her. I've always liked her in Stranger Things and I think they could even go so far as to make her Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider if they wanted. But whether it's Mary Jane or Michelle Jones, Zendaya is the MCU's MJ.

Can't see her being firestar, made for TV character from the 80s that is pretty much last out of all other female characters linked to spider man.

Saw the Jean Grey stuff too but other than the ultimate comics they're not really connected and that'd before you think of the rights, would Sony want the boost from an xmen intro but itd only be 1 movie before her own stuff takes off leaving back where they were or would Disney want to give that away.

Now Sink can't play her but I'd love to see Silk, a really isolated character at the start that'd go well with the post memory magic stuff Peter & multiverse stuff.

Her being a ginger obviously doesn't mean her character is but she is very fair skinned so maybe felicia hardy/black cat. The white hair might not stupid on her.

think you have the casting process a bit backward there… they wouldn’t shoehorn her into a character because she has red hair, they’d write a character and then cast appropriately. Character comes first, then casting for that character.

Who knows who she’s been cast to play. If indeed it is MJ, it’ll be a multiverse variant anyway, which would fit fine (and make sense) with an existing different MJ. We’ve already had three different Peter Parkers in the same movie after all.

Sorry yes, that's what I mean. They wouldn't have just cast a red haired actress because they have a red haired character they want her to portray. So the idea that they've cast Sadie Sink doesn't mean the character she's been cast as has to be a character from the comics who has red hair (Mary Jane, Jean Grey etc).

Zendaya is supposed to have limited screen time in the next film due to scheduling conflicts so it seems like Sadie Sink could be a new temporary romantic interest so hopefully they don't have her as MJ

Marvel currently doing some long drawn-out reveal of the Avengers Doomsday cast, revealing a new cast member every 10-15 minutes (just showing one of those actor/director chairs with their name on the back). So far Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie & Sebastian Stan. Probably not worth checking in on for another 8 or 9 hours at this rate.
