    Hi

I live in a ground floor apartment, near to the main front doors of the apartment block itself, there are 2 of these main doors and every time they are shut it causes my apartment door to shake - and its very annoying.

Question is, could I stick a line of dampener to my door frame, I know it wont stop it happening but it will at least dampen the noise.

I don't even know if im using the right words - do people know what im on about and if so, if I went to Woodies etc, what would I ask for ?

    Something like this?

    Draught Seal

You could try to adjust the receiver to make door tighter when closed.Even a couple of mm would help.

That's what I'm looking for alright. Do you think this might solve my issue ?

Is there a Door Closer on the front Door. It probably needs to be adjusted to prevent it slamming.

There is alright. But actually thinking about it now and talking with herself, it may be because of other apartment doors around us too.

A Door closer is supposed to close to about 6 to 12 inches then slowly close itself shut. Thereby preventing the problem your experiencing. Take a look at the closer, if there is any oil on or around it then it will need to be replaced. If there isn't then it only needs to be adjusted. An easy couple of minutes job.

Thanks. But let's say the problem is other peoples apartment doors opening and closing. Would this draught seal possibly solve my issue or is it a waste of time ?

It sounds like the Hallway needs a Vent to relieve the pressure created with Doors closing.
The Draught Excluder might help. It's cheap only a few Euro so worth a try and can't do any harm.

Management company? If you are paying them then they need to sort out the front door problem for you.
