    Hi Everyone,

I need some advice my aunt is getting a hip replacement in a few weeks time in Dublin. She was advised the recovery can take 6 weeks. She has no one living with her down the country that can help her when she comes home. She has health insurance and i think she maybe covered for respite care.

I am just wondering would this mean going into a home in her local area. Would they be able to do all the necessary things with her ?? Also wondering as she was not advised do they have to have a physio on site or would she have to make an appointment to visit physio. Does she visit them every day or once a week ???

We are hoping she can get respite for 2 weeks at least as her home is a 2 storey and her bedroom and bathroom is all upstairs. If she was unable to get somewhere for respite would she be able to get home care in ??? Where would you find out about home care in the local area.

Thanks need at the advise can get as nothing online about aftercare.
