Hi all, I have bought things on ali express and used the option on some of the items of dhl delivery which is 3-8 days.....for any of you that have used this with ali express when do the 3-8 days start to come into account, is it from the day that the seller dispatches the item (29th/30th Aug) or from the time that it is collected and you can see on the tracking system, I hope this makes sense....
Its just I got a msg from the seller saying they had to close their store but not to worry as the goods have been dispatched etc. I can see it by tracking it, but I don't want to let it go over the 8 days without dhl delivery before opening a dispute as I want to keep an eye on it.....Can any of you advise on this

The 3-8 days would be from the time it is shipped.

On your "my orders" page on aliepxress, go to the order and click on "view detail" . What does the countdown timer delivery state ?

It will say something like this :-

Reminder :In 44days 5hours 49minutes 24seconds Purchase Protection will end

You can only dispute it while that is running, vendor is paid automatically when that countdown ends.

Is the order trackable on dhl.com ?

Thanks for the reply. It took about 3-5 days to show up on the system....I paid for dhl delivery and its only trackable on the china post website......I have emailed the seller but got nothing. After I take into account the bank hol last wk (which I forgot about) it should be delivered on Tues at latest. So I am going to wait until that day and see what happens. I think that countdown says I've 20 days left.....

You are safe and secure buying on Ali - Items will either turn up or you will receive refund .

Just watch the expiry date as other poster above

Looks like it was sent Chinapost, as DHL shipments wouldn't show up there.

Is the tracking number something like RCXXXXXXXXCN ?

I'd be disputing the DHL charge, as sellers on there usually offer Chinapost Air shipping for free.

Thanks that's exactly the start of code.....I'll dispute shipping case so, it's first time to buy on Ali express so it's all new to me. Thanks for your help.
From the time the seller dispatches the items til it appears on whatever tracking system seems to take a few days as opposed to here. It's just all so new.
    Thanks again

You seem to have bought some items using DHL and some items using China free.

So you will know soon enough which is which , because if items arrive in 3-8 days its DHL , as China Free takes at least 20-30 days .

If you paid for some items DHL , then its unlikely they will be sent China free post .

Yeah I have bought items using both......I'm thinking I'll wait until Tuesday to open dispute over delivery if it doesn't come but as I said I can only track that particular item via China post and not dhl. Which is annoying considering you pay so much extra for fast delivery it's def not cheap.
Thanks for the help. Hopefully there won't be too much hassle if I need to open a dispute!!

If you open a dispute now , there is the possibility it will be rejected .

You are new to Ali , this will be a learning experience :)

How would it be rejected or why???? Sorry now.

Believe me , dispute could be rejected .

You have nothing to dispute yet .... its too early .

It can be rejected , and delivery time can be extended too.

It has happened to me in the past .

But at the end of the day , you will either receive your items or be refunded . -

So just checked my order there and I actually have 9 days left to open dispute.....
The item was dispatched around 30th July and meant to be by dhl with 3-8 days delivery. It was collected on Aug the 5th and is in "Departure from outward office of exchange" since the 6th.
So what do ye think??? I think I'd have a case if only for the cost of delivery, as the tracking is only available on the china post website nothing on dhl.

For the DHL deliveries , the 3-8 days would be from date of dispatch which is 6th August .
No need to panic yet , just keep an eye on tracking number on DHL website / 17track.net and watch the expiry date for delivery .

As I said earlier , a dispute would be rejected at this stage ,
