Just had my interview with the SW. I was given my temporary card and told my payment will be ready at the local post office next Wednesday/Thursday, does this mean I am ready to go and have officially been approved? It just seems alot faster than other cases I've heard. Just would like to make sure.

    Thanks for any help.

Jobseekers allowance is a means-tested payment so you being his partner have an affect on how much he'll receive if your over the limit for means. Only way around it is telling the social welfare you're not actually a couple. But it's better that you show them the statements. If you don't live together then I don't think they need to see the bank statements. When my girlfriend went on the dole they asked for my bankstaments as well as her own. If you're earning money as far as their concerned as partners you support each other and if you were earning enough then he doesn't need to paid by them

He's probably being Means tested for Jobseeker's Allowance or Rent Supplement. You are co-habiting so are viewed as a couple & both your incomes are assessed.
